DCU (Digital Camera Unit)

DCU (Digital Camera Unit)

DCUs are components used in Colortrac SmartLF Gx large format scanners. They contain a CCD, circuit board, lens, filter and mirror system in one compact unit. An illumination system and a single piece of optical, chemically toughened glass complete the Gx's optical components.

Use of DCUs allow Colortrac to build CCD wide format scanners with a smaller size and footprint, lower weight, more stable camera stitching alignment and lower cost than traditional CCD scanners with dispersed arrangements of optics.

In addition, the CCDs within the DCUs are able to capture images at 1200 x 600 optical resolution, the highest optical resolution available in any CCD wide format scanner today.
